WAGE RANGE: $25.50-$28.00/hourly

JOB SUMMARY: Catholic Charities seeks a detail-orientated and solution-focused people leader, who is compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally aware to join us as our Unit Manager at our St Paul Opportunity Center. 

The Unit Manager provides day-to-day leadership for program operations and staff within a designated service unit. This position ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centered services that align with Catholic Charities’ mission, policies, and standards.

Working closely with the Program Manager, the Unit Manager oversees staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management while ensuring documentation accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with funding or licensing requirements. This role also plays an active part in continuous improvement efforts, community engagement, and agency-wide collaboration.

This position contributes to developing a culture of dignity, accountability, and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Lead and coordinate recruitment, hiring, orientation, scheduling, training, and ongoing supervision of program staff.
  2. Provide coaching, feedback, and recognition to build strong, trauma-informed teams.
  3. Ensure accurate completion of client intakes, observations, and incident reports in alignment with agency policy.
  4. Monitor data entry, reporting, and quality assurance for timeliness, accuracy, and relevance.
  5. Assist with program development, implementation, and evaluation in partnership with the Program Manager.
  6. Collect and compile program data for evaluation, outcomes tracking, and funder reporting.
  7. Facilitate collaboration with internal departments and external community partners to strengthen service delivery and referral systems.
  8. Support budget development and fiscal accountability for the assigned unit.
  9. Serve as a resource for crisis response, problem-solving, and maintaining client and staff safety.
  10. Participate in on-call rotation and other leadership responsibilities as assigned.
  11. Perform additional duties as required to advance program and agency goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Has the ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and housing-first principles.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in human services, social work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience
  • Experience working with data systems and outcome-based reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support diverse staff and clients, including individuals experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred), or equivalent in-service training, certifications, or professional development.
  • Experience (paid or volunteer) in homelessness support, health and social services (e.g., foster care, behavioral health, domestic violence, community health).
