To perform facility preventive maintenance and repairs as necessary, complete facility work orders, plan complete minor construction, maintain department equipment, remove snow, and other grounds and landscaping functions.
Essential Functions
· Perform all preventative maintenance and repairs of facility’s heating, cooling, air conditioning, refrigeration, vehicles, life safety equipment and other related equipment.
· Complete work orders. Verify repair or problem and notify Supervisor.
· Perform snow removal and other ground duties as required with shovels, plows or snow blowers.
· Check operation of company vehicles.
· Perform minor plumbing repairs and replace and install plumbing fixtures, lavatories, and toilets.
· Repair minor electrical problems. Replace light fixtures.
· Utilize and operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assignments/maintenance. Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, safe, and usable manner.
· Perform minor carpentry work required in all buildings as needed.
· Maintain and empty waste receptacles, trash bins in all areas as needed.
· Spackle, taping, sanding and painting as required.
Essential Safety Responsibilities
· Maintain safety equipment: Smoke, CO2 detectors and Fire Extinguishers in all areas.
· Wear all protective equipment and clothing as directed and provided.
·Professional Requirements
· Two to five (2-5) years’ experience maintaining the upkeep of buildings and equipment.
· Experience in minor repairs to buildings, facilities, service equipment, and other related equipment.
· Specific experience in plumbing, heating, air conditioning, carpentry, painting and landscaping
· Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements, Hours and Environmental Conditions
· Exposed to inclement weather regularly during the winter months.
· Work in all areas of the facility, and grounds as needed or required.
· Ability to lift 60 pounds
· Ability to climb ladders exceeding 10 feet
Normal hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday and prospective candidates will be required to work overtime for occasional festivals, special events and during emergencies such as power failures or snow.
