The Director of Fundraising and Resource Development develops strategies and tactics to empower the disadvantaged and members of under-represented and marginalized communities to improve the quality of life for all New Mexicans. The director will establish a community fundraising and outreach program and work in partnership with community leaders and other nonprofit organizations to address social inequality and injustice in southern New Mexico. As such, the Director of Fundraising and Resource Development will always be a “champion” of the poor, immigrants, migrant workers, and victims of crime and be a strong advocate for vulnerable members of society. Specifically, the director will: 1.) lead the agency’s fundraising initiatives which include grant writing and reporting, fundraising events, and the solicitations of individuals, foundations, and businesses, 2.) supervise the work of the Deputy Director who manages the agency’s outreach programs including direct financial assistance; 3.) establish community organizing initiatives which include the agency’s ministry to the poor, immigrants, and migrant farm laborers; 4) create social media and fundraising campaigns to build public awareness of key issues that affect those who have been marginalized by society. Working with the Deputy Director, the director will develop grass-roots and community-wide initiatives and will establish annual fundraising and outreach program plans, goals, and budgets. The director will be a key member of the agency’s leadership team and reports directly to the executive director.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

§ Lead and manage the agency’s fundraising program through the successful solicitation of individuals, foundations, government entities, and businesses. Ensure the success of large-scale fundraising events through individual and corporate sponsorships. Assist in the administration of public and private foundation grants and work with the executive director to develop and evaluate annual fundraising campaigns, goals, and budgets.

§ Develop community partnerships and execute community-based outreach and tactical resource development activities. Manage on-line communication platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and the agency’s website to increase public awareness and enhance on-the-ground fundraising work. Work collaboratively with victim services staff to support the agency’s Women Empowerment Program.

§ Build and enhance nonprofit collaborations in local and rural communities and establish a successful and self-sustaining network of fundraisers, activists and grass-root leaders who will address social justice issues including discrimination, access to affordable health care and housing, food insecurity, poverty reduction, immigrant and farm worker rights.

§ Work in conjunction with Las Cruces Public School District’s Project Link Program and NMSU and DACC to oversee the agency’s Support for Scholars (S4S) and Achieve Scholarship Programs which benefit homeless high school students and underprivileged college students.

§ Manage targeted public advocacy, fundraising, and education campaigns which will educate constituents, stakeholders, and the public about Catholic Charities mission.

§ Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $53,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
