Catholic Charities has an immediate opening for a full-time Accountant. This position is responsible for accurate and timely accounts payable transactions and in collaboration with HR, responsible for the complete payroll process.

Accountant Principal Responsibilities
Expense Management
- Process, verify and reconcile all invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Prepare payment documents, print checks, and maintain and process electronic fund transfers.
- Maintain accuracy and monthly reconciliation of expense accounts.
- Responsible for vendor maintenance, including 1099 annual reporting and compliance.
- Maintain fixed asset schedule and prepare monthly depreciation entries.
- Responsible for the month end close process, including journal entry preparation, accruals, and allocations.
Payroll
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee payroll information.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll, including salary, benefits, and deduction calculations.
- Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper maintenance of UKG data.
- Analyze and reconcile payroll data to general ledger.
- Audit payroll procedures and perform corrective actions as required.
- Responsible for quarterly and year end regulatory compliance and tax reporting
- Assist in annual external audits including 403B and Worker’s Comp audit.
Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required with at least five years of accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and Nonprofit accounting.
- Proficient in Excel. Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, Raiser’s Edge NXT and UKG a plus.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
