Overview
Catholic Charities of Buffalo seeks a part-time Licensed Social Worker. This is a great opportunity for an empathetic trauma informed clinician who is looking to work on a supportive team with great benefits and a flexible schedule. Responsible for providing individual and/or family sessions as well as group facilitated sessions for our Kinship caregiver program and clients only.
This position will be expected to work on-site 17.5 hours per week. Must be available to work some evenings until 8 PM.

Job Responsibilities

Utilizes Trauma Informed principles with clients to create safety and empowerment for change

Counseling is client-driven, trauma-informed, and relevant to kinship concerns

Collaborates with clients on treatment expectations and development of treatment plans and goals throughout treatment.

Utilizes a medical record system to enter client information and case notes within program policy and regulations expectations

Has strong clinical skills in all modalities related to individual/group/family therapy; and attends available trainings to continue to expand skillset

Provides therapeutic individual/group/ and family therapy

Facilitates groups in collaboration with Kinship case manager to include family events, educational groups, support groups, and outreach activities

Must be able to provide clients with empathy and understanding regardless of own views/opinions or beliefs.

Produces accurate, timely and professionally formulated progress notes concurrent with each session or interaction that reflects the client's current status, progress, and treatment plan goals.

Collaborate with other providers and Kinship case manager when necessary and appropriate for client care and treatment.

Able to work a flexible schedule as needed to meet client needs

Reliable transportation and valid NYS Driver's license to travel to other offices within the district if needed
Qualifications

License or license-eligible degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field preferred

Knowledge of kinship care, Article 6 custody, and informal custody arrangements preferred but not required

Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), including the ability to engage diverse youth, families, and community service providers

Proven ability to work independently with strong initiative, organizational, and time management skills

Flexibility and adaptability regarding scheduling, service location, travel, and responsiveness to family needs

Strong working knowledge of resources available in Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties

Proficiency in using an electronic health record system
