Holy Spirit Parish Custodian

Position Summary
This position provides cleaning and light maintenance for the parish and school grounds. Work schedule will be Monday through Friday not to exceed 20 hours per week.
Duties And Responsibilities
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of leadership, vendors, employees, and the general public. Must have average computer skills, including aptitude with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintained the grounds in a clean and safe manner, to include blowing sidewalks and debris removal.
- Cleaning; taking out trash, sweeping, washing floors, kitchen sinks & counters in the main Hall and all meeting rooms.
- Perform minor maintenance at parish properties, including painting, changing light bulbs, etc.
- Provides general assistance as needed through setting up and taking down tables, chairs and dance floor for events.
- Responsible for the removal of trash after events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Pastor, Head of Maintenance, and Parish Administrator.
- Successful work experience in minor repair work in carpentry and painting.
- Successful work experience in maintaining grounds, parking lots and roads.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, lift, reach and stay on feet for the duration of shift.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal background check prior to employment and every five years.
