Core Responsibilities
- Assist with Literacy & English Language Instruction
- Help with Classroom Management & Activities
- Help with Lesson Preparation
- Assist in Parent Orientation Workshops
- Assist with Administrative Tasks
What will you be doing in your role?
- Assist instructors in teaching English language and literacy skills to refugee students in summer camps.
- Help with classroom management and other activities, such as crafts and snacks.
- Conduct classes in a fun, positive, welcoming, and culturally sensitive learning manner.
- Help instructors with lesson preparation.
- Assist in parent orientation workshops.
- Assist with school reenrollment events.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry.
- Be flexible with your tasks and time to help the team as needed.
- Travel to and from class sites and the office.
- Work collaboratively with other Refugee School Impact team members to support the overall goals of the team.
- You meet your commitments and effectively manage your administrative duties.
Are you the next Refugee School Impact Intern?
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s level program.
- Experience with children.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Transportation to and from off-site locations; valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Bilingual in current refugee language, preferred (Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, etc.)
- Commit to 15 to 20 hours per week during the summer.
