General Responsibilities
- This is an Internship position.
- Operate as a member of the Community Services team, providing services to clients in the areas of Homeless Prevention and Transitional and Rapid Rehousing programs.
- Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.
Essential Functions
- Meet with individuals in the office and in community settings including home visits to provide case management to program participants.
- Assist with quality review processes.
- Ability to relate well to families and individuals in crisis situations.
- Must demonstrate fundamental communication and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers, other community agencies, and constructively with persons from all ethnic, racial, and social backgrounds.
- Conduct Homeless Prevention Assessments and related documentation for that program
- Provide Case Management for Transitional Housing and Rapid Rehousing clients, including service planning, social histories and other supportive services.
- Learn office phone system including providing occasional coverage for reception absences.
- Engage in research impacting client needs and compiling data reports.
- Conducts Landlord Engagement and works with prospective landlords for housing.
Requirements
- Enrollment in an approved college program is required for this position, BSW Students are preferred with preference in areas of Social Work and Human Services. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation and proof of liability insurance is required.
