What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Catholic Charities Community Services?
Location: 1155 University Ave
Summary: Provide cleaning and maintenance support at the Highbridge Gardens Cornerstone. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Discard trash daily, replace bags, and wash out garbage bins.
• Dust, clean, and disinfect surface areas, including all tables, chairs, and desks
• Sweep and mop office and common areas
• Maintain kitchen area, clean microwave, tabletop, and refrigerator
• Maintain bathrooms: sweep and mop floors, clean toilets and sinks, wipe down walls, and replace paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap
• Assist with repairs such as changing light bulbs, installing shelves, etc.
• Ensure the cleanliness of outside grounds (stairs, excess garbage, shoveling, etc)
• Update and replenish cleaning supply inventory as needed
• Assist other staff when needed
• Other duties as assigned
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position. Days of work are generally Monday - Friday, 6 pm-10 pm. Some Saturdays between 1 pm-5 pm. 6 pm -11 pm July – August.

• Remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Use upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion or to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
• Raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position-to- position.
• Medium to heavy physical work, exerting from 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
• Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, cleaning solutions, sprays, etc.
Qualifications
Education and/or experience required:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience or training in building trade, moving, maintenance, and performing general repairs.
Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies required:
•Ability to handle multiple demands and work well independently or within a team.
