Job Title: Recovery Specialist
Program: Women's Recovery Program
Location: Leominster, Massachusetts
Reports To: Recovery Specialist Supervisor
Schedule: Sunday -Thursday 3:00PM- 11:00PM
Primary Responsibility: Provide guidance and direction to residents and oversee resident activities to ensure conformance with program policies. Participate in ensuring the day-to-day operations of the program milieu support the culture of recovery and is both trauma and gender informed.
Essential Duties:
- Direct and supervise the daily schedules of Women's Recovery Program and its residents
- Daily monitoring of residents prescribed medication(s), refills and disposal of discontinued medication(s). Witness and document residents’ daily medication intake on individual resident’s medication sheet. This includes documentation and verification on MAT’s and pain medications prescribed to residents
- Act as a counselor, lecturer, and group leader in the rehabilitation program
- Participate in the regularly scheduled staff meetings and monthly in-service trainings
- Admit new residents to the program in the absence of the program counselors
- Transport clients as necessary
Licenses:
- Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC); Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor II (LADC-II; or LADC-Asst.) certification(s) preferred
- Valid driver’s license
Knowledge/Experience:
- CPR-First Aid Certified and Trained in Overdose Prevention / Narcan
- Demonstrated knowledge of the human services field with a special knowledge in substance use and co-occurring disorders within the Recovery Home model of treatment
- Possess a base of knowledge from introductory courses in addiction and co-occurring disorders as well as course experience in the skills and techniques of a Recovery Specialist
- Possess a base skill set with computer technology, particularly Microsoft Office
- Recovering individuals should possess a solid foundation with their personal sobriety and abstinence, while being active in a recovery program outside of the work environment
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Ability to climb stairs to make rounds throughout the residents’ rooms and areas of the building and program property while on duty (every 30 minutes minimum)
- Normal range of hearing and vision, with or without correction
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the staff, residents, and peers
- Ability to enforce the staff / administrative decisions around resident cases and communicates these decisions to the residents without altercation
- Recovering substance users should have a solid foundation in their individual recovery program when addressing personal addiction and recovery needs
Requirements:
- CPR-First Aid certification
