We’re a busy catering & events company looking for a creative, modern Pastry Chef who is trend-aware and can produce desserts that are both stylish and consistent. This role is ideal for someone with current pastry training and a strong eye for modern presentation.
Responsibilities
- Create and produce trendy, modern desserts with a clean, elevated look (mini desserts, plated desserts, cakes, bars, mousses, etc.)
- Develop, standardize, and maintain recipes (weights/yields/process) and support recipe costing
- Execute high-volume production with consistency, speed, and strong organization
- Support cost control through portioning, waste reduction, and smart production planning
- Maintain sanitation standards, labeling, storage (FIFO), and an inspection-ready station
- Coordinate with kitchen/operations for accurate packing and on-time event execution
Dietary / Allergen Requirements (Must Have)
Must be able to create and produce desserts for dietary restrictions, including:
- Vegan
- Gluten-free
- Dairy-free
- Nut-free
…and understand cross-contact prevention and proper labeling.
Qualifications
- 3 years professional pastry experience (high-volume/catering preferred)
- Strong fundamentals (scaling, baking science, finishing)
- Proven ability to create recipes, document them, and follow standards
- Cost-minded: comfortable with basic food cost / recipe costing
- Reliable, team-oriented, and calm under deadlines
