Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or similar commercial vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and timeliness.
- Deliver products directly to customers’ locations, providing friendly and professional customer service at each stop.
- Verify delivery details with customers upon arrival, obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle inspection records.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance; report any issues promptly.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when necessary, including inventory management and stock replenishment.
- Handle heavy lifting with proper technique to ensure safety for yourself and others during loading and unloading processes.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks when required for moving large or bulk items within warehouses or delivery sites.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise on the route.
Experience
- CLASS B CDL REQUIRED
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with route driving responsibilities in a commercial setting.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to load, unload, move heavy items, and perform manual lifting safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including the use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
- Experience driving vehicles with manual transmissions is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary.
