Assistant Controller.

The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The backup for the role is the Controller.
Note: Food processing experience preferred.
Description:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for operational decisions.
- Support all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Participate in audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Manage special projects requiring high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prepare for and participate in 1-3 annual physical inventory counts.
- All other tasks as assigned
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Related Experience/Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects requiring meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent computer skills including accounting systems or ERP software.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects demanding high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Must read and write English.
- Travel requirement if needed our-of-state.
- Ability to work in a highly confidential environment.
- Knowledge of best practices and how position integrates with others internally and externally.

Physical Requirements:
