Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and edging to maintain aesthetic appeal and health of outdoor spaces
- Operate groundskeeping and landscaping equipment such as power tools, lawn mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Identify plants accurately to assist with gardening tasks and ensure proper care for diverse flora
- Manage irrigation systems to optimize watering schedules and conserve water resources
- Apply pesticide management techniques following safety protocols to protect plants from pests and diseases
- Conduct hardscape maintenance including cleaning pathways, repairing patios or walkways, and managing snow plowing during winter months
- Perform tree care activities such as trimming or pruning to promote growth and safety while adhering to safety standards
Experience
- Prior outdoor work experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or horticulture is highly preferred
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices including mowing, planting, pruning, and fertilization
- Familiarity with landscape equipment operation such as power tools, irrigation systems, and snow plowing machinery
- Understanding of plant identification and basic horticulture principles to support healthy plant growth
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while handling equipment and chemicals
- Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping tools and groundskeeping equipment operation is a plus
- Experience with pesticide management or applying fertilizers safely is advantageous
