Catbird is hiring for a Merchandise Planner to join the team. In this role, you’ll oversee sales and
inventory planning across our growing jewelry collection, helping us balance data-driven
precision with creativity. This is a full-time position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced
environment and enjoys working cross-functionally. You’ll collaborate closely with
merchandising, retail, finance and operations teams to ensure the right pieces are in the right
place at the right time.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Brooklyn, NY office.

Key Responsibilities
- Planning, Projections: analyze sales, stock levels, margin and other key metrics. Own end to end merchandise planning, delivering sales projections and target stock levels by sku, style, product type, location,
- Open-to-Buy: develop and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans, recommend shifts in purchasing based on performance and trends
- Reporting, Analysis: prepare regular reports, presenting recommendations re assortment edits, product or category opportunities, liabilities
- Allocation, Inventory: provide per location sku minimums and assess stock balance transfer efficiency; allocate inventory to optimize sell through, margin and stock efficiency
- KPIs: Monitor inventory KPIs such as revenue, profitability, turn, and sell-through; identify risks and opportunities to improve performance
- Management/Leadership: manage, develop and train assistants and coordinators
- Oversee the proper execution of department tasks. Co-manage projects and initiatives. Represent Merchandising in interdepartmental efforts
- 4-6 years of planning experience, ideally in multi-channel jewelry or accessories
- Adept at learning new platforms and systems
- Strong analytical, problem solving, Excel, ERP and retail math skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Flexible, able to pivot quickly, multitask and set priorities for self & team
- Strong sense of urgency and ownership
- Team player with a respectful, positive and supportive approach
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, startup-like environment - scrappy, resourceful, and excited to wear many hats as the role evolves
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
