Summary of Performance Expectations. Performs a variety of administrative and support functions relating to the control, preparation and delivery of pharmaceutical products Education and Credentials: Required: High School diploma; registered with NC BOP; Certification from the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) and maintains 20 hours of Continuing Education in pharmacy field every two years; satisfactorily demonstrated competency in the following areas upon completion of 90 day orientation: Electronic health record, IV solution compounding and related equipment, automated dispensing medication system and associated applications, Controlled-Substance safe, RFID kit tracking system, packaging systems and materials. Preferred: Certification from the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT); Formal technical or vocational training leading. Work Experience: Required: One year experience as a Pharmacy Technician I. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date. Preferred: Three years experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or health system setting.
