Job Summary:
Under the general direction from the Table Games Floor Supervisor, Table Games Shift Manager and/or Table Games Management the Table Games Dealer promotes positive customer experience by dealing Table Games to guests on assigned shift in a prompt, courteous and professional manner for blackjack or other table games, as applicable.
Responsibilities:
- Must adhere with and be in compliance with Catawba Nation Gaming Commission regulations, casino policies, internal controls, standard operating procedures and conducts all games in accordance with aforementioned regulations, policies, and controls.
- Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
- Accurately deals the assigned game to the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of that game.
- Verbalizes the game in a voice loud enough for the players and supervisors to hear.
- Verifies beginning and ending chip and money balances and confirms supporting documentation.
- Receives fills and distributes credits. Exchanges paper currency for playing chips, as applicable.
- Recognizes internally issued promotional coupons and handles as appropriate.
- Ensures wagers are placed before cards are dealt.
- Monitors game and notifies Table Games Floor Supervisor of any disputes, problems, or concerns with patron and/or the progress of the game.
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Assists in company functions.
- Preform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must pass Dealer proficiency audition.
- Dealer experience preferred.
- Knowledge of gaming and alcohol beverage control regulations and company internal policies and procedures.
- Dealer school certificate or proven dealing experience preferred.
- Certification and/or experience in at least one of the core games: Blackjack, Roulette, and baccarat; and all the Carnival Games
- Within 1 year of hire date, must be proficient in at least two of the core games.
- Preference for those with multiple games.
- Must be able to pass a math competency test.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

- Timeliness and accuracy in performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed.
- Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to second-hand cigarette smoke).
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for the majority of assigned shift.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel.
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
- Must be able to reach in front of body, grip and hold item.
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
- Must be able to work in a noise-filled environment.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Visual acuity and hearing.
- Manual dexterity
