Job Summary:

The Cook II position at Two Kings Casino is responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to establishing recipes and standards. Utilizes portion and presentation standards to create appealing and flavorful dishes. This role ensures food quality and presentation meet the casino’s expectations and contributes to a positive dining experience for guests.  

Responsibilities:

• Preform other duties as assigned
• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and standards  
• Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet expectations  
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen  
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies  
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines  
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations  
• Support kitchen staff during peak hours or special events  

Qualifications:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License as required by tribal and state authorities 
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age 
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred 
• 2 - 3 years of experience in high-volume kitchen or similar role 
• Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures 
• Ability to work in fast-paced, team-orientated environment 
• Strong communication and organizational skills 
• Flexibility to work night, weekends, and holidays 

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with kitchen display systems and POS systems
• Experience in a casino, hotel, or multi-outlet restaurant environment
• ServSafe Certification is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.  
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed.
• Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to secondhand cigarette smoke).

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced environment
• Standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods during shifts
• May be required to work split shifts or extended hours during peak times

Physical Requirements  

• Ability to stand for extended periods 
• Lift and carry up to 50lbs 
• Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments
