Position Summary: This seasonal evening position works on a team to assist in preparation of a variety of cold food items such as salads, appetizers, and sandwiches. Will work with other kitchen staff and interact with serving staff to ensure proper preparation and delivery of dishes for customers.
Position Summary:
- Prepares variety of cold food items such as salads, appetizers, and sandwiches.
- Washes, peels, slices, and mixes fruits or other ingredients for salads, cold plates, and garnishes. Carves and slices meats and cheese.
- Portions and arranges food on serving dishes.
- Prepares fruit, seafood cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres.
- Measures and mixes ingredients to make salad dressings, sauces, and prepared salads.
- May prepare or make sandwiches to order, and prepare breakfast and dessert fruit, such as melons, berries, grapefruit, and bananas.
- Distributes food to waiters/waitresses to serve to customers.
- Cleans and preps produce for daily operations.
- Maintains sanitary work station.
Experience/Requirements
- Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate (read and speak in the primary language (English).
- Able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Follow written (English) directions for equipment and recipe production.
Minimum Physical Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50-pounds occasionally and as much as 20-pounds frequently.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
- Must exhibit hand coordination and dexterity for rapid food production.
