Powder Coat / Paint Supervisor

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Powder Coat / Paint Supervisor to lead our finishing operations in Union City. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in powder coating and paint application processes, along with strong leadership skills to ensure product quality, team performance, and compliance with all environmental and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operations of the powder coat and paint department, including setup, production scheduling, and quality control.
• Supervise and train production staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and process standards.
• Manage wash and pre-treatment processes, including chemical stabilization and water quality management.
• Maintain accurate chemical concentrations and ensure proper documentation of line checks and adjustments.
• Ensure all powder coating and painting activities meet or exceed customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Monitor compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other environmental regulations related to waste management and discharge.
• Coordinate maintenance of booths, ovens, wash lines, and related equipment to minimize downtime.
• Partner with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and enhance finish quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in powder coating, industrial painting, or metal finishing operations.
• Proven experience supervising or leading a production team.
• Strong understanding of wash processes, chemical stabilization, and wastewater discharge systems.
• Familiarity with EPA, RCRA, and hazardous materials handling regulations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

• Technical or trade certification in industrial coatings, manufacturing technology, or related field.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
