Senior Software Engineer – Enterprise & Store Technology

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer III to join our Enterprise & Store Technology team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you will spend the majority of your time designing, building, and shipping high-quality software — while also contributing to architectural decisions and elevating the engineers around you.
We are also evolving how we build software. We are looking for someone who embraces AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and can help introduce smarter, more efficient ways of working across the team.

What You'll Do
- Own features and projects end-to-end — from technical design through deployment and production support
- Write clean, well-tested, performant code and lead by example in code reviews
- Contribute meaningfully to design and architecture discussions with well-reasoned technical recommendations
- Build and maintain microservices and REST/JSON APIs at scale
- Leverage GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and share learnings with the team
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery speed through automation — testing, documentation, code generation
- Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into well-architected solutions
- Collaborate with offshore teams and vendors to keep delivery on track
- Ensure applications perform reliably in production through proactive monitoring and observability practices
- Mentor and support peers, helping raise the overall engineering capability of the team
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
- 6 years of software development experience
- Strong full-stack development experience
- Frontend: React
- Backend: Node.js, TypeScript
- Proven experience building microservices and REST/JSON APIs at scale
- Strong AWS cloud environment experience
- Solid SQL and relational database experience
- Solid CI/CD pipeline experience — building, maintaining, and improving delivery pipelines
- Strong observability practices — logging, tracing, alerting, dashboards
- Service design, workflow orchestration, and API documentation experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US — no sponsorship available
Nice to Have:
- Python and/or Java backend experience
- Hands-on experience with AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) in daily workflows
- Experience building data-driven or intelligent application features
- Background in retail, fintech, or omni-channel environments
