Overview

We are actively hiring multiple Software Developer II professionals to support a high-impact, mission-driven program focused on enhancing autonomy software for surface vessel systems.

This team is expanding to support new feature development and performance improvements within an existing, complex software environment. You will join one of several agile scrum teams working collaboratively to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, test, and enhance software for mission-critical systems

• Work hands-on with C code (read, write, debug, improve)

• Contribute to new feature development and system performance optimization

• Participate in full SDLC within an Agile/Scrum environment

• Collaborate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and team discussions

• Own development tickets and deliver within sprint timelines

• Support software integration, deployment, and system enhancements

• Work with cross-functional teams to improve system capabilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree 2 years experience (or Master’s with <2 years)

• Strong professional experience with C development

• Experience with Java and front-end development frameworks

• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, SQL Server)

• Ability to analyze, write, debug, and improve code independently

• Strong understanding of software development best practices

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Python experience

• Experience with communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DDS)

• Linux OS experience

• Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes/RKE2)

• Experience with simulations and large data sets

• Understanding of vector geometry / spatial modeling

• Experience with source control and configuration management tools
