What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Caregiver Companion position at Catalyst?
$18/hour and paid travel
Personal caregiver/ Companion to teenager who lives in family home with very supportive family.
Duties
- Provide companionship and accompany to community outings
- Assist with meal preparation
- Help with reading comprehension in order to encourage independence
- Assist with cares such dressing, grooming
- Ensure health and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Observe and report any changes in individual's condition or behavior to parent
- Follow individualized care plan and document care provided
Requirements
- Relevant caregiving experience with families, young people and people with cognitive disabilities
- Certification in CPR and First Aid always a plus
- Experience working with young people and individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with family and supervisory RN
- Compassionate and kind
