The Patient Access Specialist at Village Health Partners (now a part of Catalyst Physician Group) will handle inbound and outbound patient communications via online chats, text messaging, emails, faxes, and phones. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in utilizing advanced technologies to process these communications in a professional, efficient manner. Job Summary
The Patient Access Specialist at Village Health Partners (now a part of Catalyst Physician Group) will handle inbound and outbound patient communications via online chats, text messaging, emails, faxes, and phones. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in utilizing advanced technologies to process these communications in a professional, efficient manner. Role And Responsibilities
- Manage online service accounts including Healow, ZocDoc, patient portal, and webchat
- Appointment scheduling, demographic updates, and routing messages to appropriate team members
- Manage email requests from proxy accounts
- Troubleshoot portal issues
- Verify and update patient insurance information
- Empathize with and coach patients in navigating the healthcare system
- Meet performance metrics and service level criteria
- Identify special needs and take proper steps to ensure patient concerns are addressed appropriately
- Work well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in work processes and/or setting.
- Follow all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates.
- Follow all clinical safety protocols and infection control procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of related experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Experience using medical EMR systems
- Excellent customers service and communication skills
- Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment utilizing advanced communication technologies
- Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
- Experience in a Primary Care office setting
- Athena EMR experience
