Custodial Floor Technician

Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting floors across various areas of the facility.
• Conduct specialized floor care tasks such as buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing to maintain optimal floor appearance and durability.
• Execute carpet cleaning procedures utilizing appropriate equipment and solutions to remove stains and maintain carpet longevity.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in restrooms, common areas, and workspaces by adhering to established sanitation protocols.
• Operate janitorial equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring proper maintenance and storage of tools and supplies.
• Follow environmental services guidelines to promote sustainable cleaning practices that minimize waste and chemical use.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in custodial services or environmental cleaning within commercial or institutional settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
• Knowledge of janitorial equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough cleaning tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with safety protocols related to chemical handling and equipment use.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Previous experience in environmental services or commercial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
