Position Title: Inbound Inspection
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for inspection of all inbound properties and freight.
Essential Job Functions (listing most important first):
- Strictly follow all safety guidelines to ensure the safety of own self and other co-workers.
- Open crating and complete visual inspection of all inbound properties.
- Determine if repairs are needed and ensure the appropriate department is notified of repairs needed.
- Move, locate, relocate, stack and count property using a forklift.
- Loan and unload freight.
- Receive, identify, mark and place materials sent to the warehouse according to established procedures.
- Notify supervisors of problems that are not resolved.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience:
- 1 year previous experience preferred.
Required/Preferred Skills/Training:
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
- Ability to work within team AND on individual tasks
- Carpentry experience a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Certifications, Licensees or Registrations Required/Preferred:
- Forklift certification a plus
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to complete common mathematical operations
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong ability to handle deadline pressures and multiple assignments
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
- Will be required to regularly stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, push and pull.
