SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Coater prepares cereal and snack mixes, ensuring production lines are consistently supplied to meet targets. As the first line of food defense and quality assurance, this role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and cleanliness. The Coater collaborates with the Quality team to follow recipes and maintain product consistency. Additional duties include supporting sanitation, warehouse tasks, and other responsibilities as assigned, with opportunities for growth within Catalina Snacks, Inc.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Coater is responsible for preparing cereal and/or snack mixes and ensuring production lines are consistently supplied to meet scheduled targets. This role also serves as the first line of food defense and quality assurance, requiring a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and cleanliness. The Coater will also collaborate with the Quality team and is expected to follow all recipes and formulas provided by Research & Development and Quality Assurance to maintain product consistency and compliance. Additionally, the Coater will support cross-functional tasks, including sanitation, warehouse duties, and other responsibilities as assigned by management—and is encouraged to pursue ongoing growth opportunities within Catalina Snacks, Inc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with the Quality Assurance department to ensure all quality standards are met, including consistent adherence to recipes and formulas provided by R&D and QA.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams to uphold company standards for product quality and cleanliness.
• Accurately measure, weigh, and record ingredient usage on all required documentation.
• Assemble and disassemble pumps, mixers, and other equipment as needed to support production.
• Communicate any material needs promptly to material handlers to prevent production delays.
• Lift up to 60 lbs. repeatedly and comfortably throughout the duration of the shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in reading and writing English is required to perform job-related duties effectively.
• Mathematically literate, with the ability to perform basic calculations for ingredient measurements and other tasks.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Capable of lifting ingredient totes up to 60 lbs.
• Previous food production experience preferred but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The plant facility is not air-conditioned and there will be exposure to loud machinery. The noise level can be moderate to high. Employees are required to wear uniforms, hair nets, safety shoes and adhere to GMP guidelines. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, attention to details, and safety are of the utmost importance.

PAY

1st Shift: $21.00 per hour.

2nd Shift: $22.00 per hour.

SCHEDULE

1st Shift: Monday through Friday, from 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM

2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM

Please note, hours could vary based on business needs.

Management will communicate any overtime hours within 24 hours at minimum, in advance, and as needed.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
