Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician performs routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of manufacturing machinery. This position must be able to work independently while at the same time possessing the ability to use common sense to accomplish the tasks required efficiently and effectively.

Essential Job Functions:
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures.
- Repair and replace motors, contactors, and machine components.
- Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Fabricate parts and perform welding repairs.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime
- Must be able to complete work order forms, take direction, be organize, and effectively communicate with supervisors and management.
- Perform all aspects of property maintenance, including preventative, corrective, deferred and emergency maintenance.
- Maintain all maintenance areas and storage rooms in an orderly fashion and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate inventory control of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform maintenance inspections and repairs
- Serve as on-call maintenance on weekends and holiday emergency service.
- Ability and willingness to take direction and follow through as directed
- Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude
- Must be able to report to work as scheduled and on time.
- General computer skills
Skills and/or Competencies:
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Ability to perform welding or fabrication tasks
- Ability to write basic communication to understand on-the-job work standards.
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and/or small group.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to read, update, and close work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Accurately document maintenance activities, parts used, and downtime causes.
- Follow digital preventive maintenance schedules and ensure work orders are completed properly.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in manufacturing
