What are the responsibilities and job description for the Relief Veterinarian - Feline Medicine position at Cat Depot?
Relief Veterinarian for Feline Medicine!
Cat Depot is seeking Relief Veterinarians to provide flexible, as-needed coverage for our public Cat Care Clinic and our Shelter Hospital, located alongside our adoption center in beautiful, sunny Sarasota, FL. This is a unique opportunity for a veterinarian who loves feline medicine and wants meaningful, mission-driven relief work in a supportive, well-equipped environment. Whether you enjoy wellness care, surgery, dentistry, shelter medicine, or complex feline cases, our team offers the tools, collaboration, and purpose to make each shift rewarding.
Our public Cat Care Clinic provides full-service medical care for owned cats, ranging from wellness visits to more advanced procedures including surgery, ultrasound, dentistry, and orthopedics. Through our Spectrum of Care approach, grants, and tiered fee schedules based on financial need, we work hard to ensure cats receive care when they need it most.
Our Shelter Hospital just down the hall operates as a separate facility serving homeless cats, cats relinquished for adoption, foster kittens, neonates, TNVR cats, and cats impacted by hoarding, cruelty, weather disasters, and rescue transfers.
Our medical equipment includes Samsung ultrasound, digital dental & full-body xray, Sedivue urine analyzer, neonatal incubator, Cutting Edge cold laser, Idexx chemistry and CBC in-house lab. Relief veterinarians have the opportunity to work up interesting cases, collaborate with experienced colleagues, expand surgical skills, and support cats with a wide range of medical needs.
All of our staff are well trained and passionately believe in our single mission: to save lives, find loving homes, and provide resources and education needed to improve the destiny of homeless cats. Combined, we have over 130 years of veterinarian experience for case collaboration
