Description of Work
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will provide direct Physical Therapy services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Caswell Developmental Center under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). This candidate assists the PT with evaluations, treatment planning, scheduling, documentation, and daily therapy sessions. Also conducts standardized PT tests, gathers health data, monitors adaptive devices, and participates in meetings and chart reviews. The PTA trains and consults with facility staff on safe practices, positioning, transfers, and PT-related care and delivers and supports a variety of specialized PT services as part of individual treatment plans or standalone programs.

Salary Range: $46,149.00 to $69,222.00

- Demonstrates strong knowledge of PT principles, core concepts, anatomy, and treatment modalities.
- Organizes and manages daily therapy schedules efficiently.
- Follows and adapts therapy plans to support goal progress, reporting changes to the PT.
- Provides staff training, education, and in-servicing on PT services, devices, and supports, while monitoring staff performance.
- Monitors patient vital signs and utilizes basic to intermediate computer skills for documentation and care coordination.
Work Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday
