Perform quick, routine vehicle maintenance like oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks (oil, brake, coolant, washer), and tire services (pressure, rotation) while also inspecting for other issues and communicating with service advisors, ensuring customer satisfaction and shop safety. Key duties include draining old oil, adding new oil, replacing filters, checking and topping fluids, inspecting belts/hoses, rotating tires, cleaning, and explaining recommended services to customers. Key Responsibilities
- Oil & Filter Services: Drain engine oil, replace oil and air filters.
- Fluid Maintenance: Check and refill transmission, brake, power steering, and antifreeze.
- Vehicle Inspections: Inspect undercarriage for leaks, check tire pressure/wear, lights, wipers, and belts.
- Tire Services: Rotate tires and inflate to proper pressure.
- Light Repairs: Replace wiper blades, batteries, and fuses.
- Customer Service: Greet customers, explain services, and recommend additional maintenance to the service advisor.
- Shop Maintenance: Keep work area, tools, and customer vehicles clean; maintain equipment.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Technical: Ability to operate lifts, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Physical: Stamina for standing, bending, and lifting (often 50 lbs).
- Soft Skills: Good communication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of automotive systems.
