What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025-2026 Substitute Teacher Pool. $240 Daily Rate, $265 Long term Assignment position at Castro Valley Unified School District?
Substitute Teachers work on an on-call, as-needed basis.
Certificated Teachers for the following subjects: Grades Pre-K thru 5 Middle & High School: History Language Arts/English Science Mathematics Physical Education Special Education
Applicants are required to submit the following items with the application:
1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college and meet California's Commision on Teacher Credentialing eligibility requirements.
2. Appropriate credentials or permit issued by the Commission of Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
30 Day Emergency Substitute Permit, Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential

Foreign Transcripts must be evaluated for US equivalency by an accredited and CTC approved transcript evaluator.

SELECTION PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO HOLDERS OF PROFESSIONAL-LEVEL TEACHING CERTIFICATION SUCH AS: Preliminary & Clear Multiple, Single or Special Education credentials and 30 day Substitute Permit Holders
