- Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
- Communicate with customer on parts needs at the parts counter and status of potential orders if necessary.
- Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Be able to operate, navigate, read and understand a computer based, electronic parts catalog when looking up parts.
- Be able to operate a computer to process customer orders for parts, look up stock, and do daily tasks.
- Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
- Provides high level of service to all types of customers, whether they are internal (technicians), walk in, phone or online customers.
- Pulls and fills orders from stock and or transfers
- Maintain occasional bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock. Participates in annual physical inventory.
- Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Locates out-of-stock parts and procures through transfer, stock order or emergency order, as necessary.
- Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
- Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
- Receives and ships parts daily from other stores as well as from suppliers.
- Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Have experience with equipment parts sales (preferred)
- Strong computer skills
- Are able to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Have strong organizational and time management skills
- Able to operate a forklift
- Able to lift 50lbs repeatedly
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to calculate basic math and determine amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
