Castle Storage is a locally owned self-storage facility in North Augusta, South Carolina. We are looking for a dependable, friendly, part-time team member to help operate the facility during weekday daytime hours.
This is a customer-facing and facility-focused position. The right person will be warm, reliable, teachable, organized, and comfortable working independently in a quiet office environment.
Position Summary
The Part-Time Storage Facility Assistant will help manage Castle Storage’s routine daily operations. Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering phones, showing available storage units, processing rentals and move-outs, following up with tenants, maintaining accurate records, and helping keep the office and property clean and professional.
This is not a high-pressure sales position. Our goal is to make the storage process simple, friendly, and easy for customers. Many of our customers are going through moves, family changes, business transitions, or other stressful situations. We want each customer to feel that they are being helped by someone who is patient, kind, and attentive.
Schedule
This is a flexible part-time position of approximately 25 to 30 hours per week.
The expected schedule is primarily Monday through Friday during daytime office hours. A typical schedule may be 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, although there may be some flexibility depending on the right candidate.
Saturday work is not required. Castle Storage is closed on Sunday.
Compensation
The starting rate may be reviewed after the 90-day introductory period based on reliability, attitude, customer service, accuracy, follow-through, and ability to perform the position with minimal supervision.
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer incoming calls and return missed calls during scheduled work hours.
- Ask customers about their storage needs and help them choose an appropriate unit size.
- Show available units to prospective customers.
- Process new rentals using Castle Storage’s established procedures and StorEdge facility management software.
- Walk customers through digital leases, payment setup, access instructions, insurance or protection-plan requirements, and available lock options.
- Process routine payments and provide receipts.
- Process standard move-outs and inspect vacated units.
- Maintain accurate tenant notes and follow-up reminders in StorEdge.
- Contact past-due tenants using Castle Storage’s respectful and professional collections process.
- Add or remove overlocks according to established procedures.
- Walk the property each morning and check for trash, open doors, unlocked units, abandoned items, spills, signs of tampering, or maintenance concerns.
- Keep the office, foyer, bathroom, customer areas, door handles, keypads, windows, and storage hallways clean and presentable.
- Use a battery-powered blower, push broom, mop, and other basic cleaning tools as needed.
- Report supply needs, maintenance concerns, customer disputes, security concerns, or unusual situations to ownership.
- Follow all company procedures concerning payments, customer information, access codes, keys, security, and facility operations.

Prior self-storage experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person.
Work Environment
The employee will often work independently on-site. Some days may be quiet with limited phone calls or customer traffic. During quiet periods, the employee will be expected to complete property inspections, customer follow-ups, cleaning, office organization, and other assigned tasks.
This position is primarily on-site because many customers prefer to see a storage unit before renting.
Employees are not expected to answer calls or emails outside their scheduled working hours.
Dress Code
Castle Storage will provide three embroidered collared polo shirts.
Employees may wear appropriate pants, jeans, or other suitable bottoms. Clothing should be clean, neat, and appropriate for a customer-facing position.
Closed-toe shoes are required while working.
