We are looking to add a dynamic Accounting Director to our Team. The ideal candidate is someone with at least five years' experience in a similar role or a role with growing responsibilities. Experience in a retail company with high volume inventory turns is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations of the accounting and payroll department.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financials in compliance with GAAP
- Prepare annual budgets as needed
- Prepare reports on cash flow and oversee daily cash reconciliation
- Provide analysis of strategic business initiatives and new business opportunities when appropriate
- Assist in the analysis of market trends affecting sales results
- Provide analytical support as requested by executive team
- Develop financial models as needed
- Draft memos and business plan documents for new business opportunities
- Ability to develop, communicate and present analysis and results to leadership team
- Oversee payables, receivables and payroll to ensure that employees are being paid timely and accurately
- Maintain chart of accounts and keep developing as needed
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Maintain fixed assets
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries
- Update forecasts to accurately project revenues, expenses, and cash
- Manage all IRS and tax reporting
- Work closely with executive team to facilitate efficient and effective operations
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- Minimum 5-year relevant experience in similar role
- Prior leadership experience that includes training, managing, and mentoring small onsite teams
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions
- Proactive, can-do attitude with strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical capabilities including at least intermediate MS Office skills, particularly Excel
- Autonomous, pro-active, and results focused
- Able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment while maintaining priorities and meeting deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in Retail or using Eagle/Epicor is a HUGE plus!
- Must be at least 18 years or older
Scheduling Requirements / Working Conditions:
- 100% onsite
- Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
- Regularly spend long hours in intense concentration reviewing and entering financial information into a computer.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours to meet critical deadlines if needed
