Agricultural Equipment Operator / Farm Hand

Castle Farms LLC
Jet, OK Temporary
POSTED ON 4/14/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/18/2026
As a Farm Hand, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, taking on a wide range of responsibilities that span from crop management to livestock care. Your expertise in operating large equipment and your dedication to ensuring the wellbeing of our livestock will be key to the success of our operation. This role requires flexibility, as busy seasons may involve weekend work, and it offers an opportunity to embrace the challenges and rewards of farm life in a supportive, thriving environment. Your duties will include operating and maintaining large equipment used for both crop and cattle management. You will oversee and care for livestock, ensuring their health and wellbeing by feeding, monitoring water supplies, and detecting when animals, particularly first-calf heifers, are ready to give birth. Additionally, you will assist in planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops, which may involve preparing fields, attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, and using hand tools to ensure the equipment is properly set up. You will be responsible for fertilizing, spraying, weeding, and other tasks to protect crops from insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases, using sprayers and hand tools. In addition to crop management, you will be involved in the routine maintenance and repair of farm equipment and facilities, ensuring everything is in good working condition for daily operations. You will also collaborate with the owners to complete tasks and projects and work extended hours during busy seasons, including weekends. This role requires adherence to sustainable and ethical farming practices, a strong mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance, and a flexible mindset to handle peak season demands. The ideal candidate will have experience in both crop and cattle operations, particularly with operating large equipment, and possess a strong dedication to the welfare of livestock and sustainable farming practices. Physical fitness and stamina for manual labor, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and effective communication skills are essential. You will also be required to drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, as well as monitor and record agricultural data. Starting in February, you will join our team during calving season with approximately 325 commercial cows. Your responsibilities will begin with regular checks on the cows, feeding, and water supply, focusing on detecting when cows are ready to give birth. As the seasons progress, you will operate self-propelled sprayers with auto-steer to apply fertilizers to winter wheat, mix pre-emergent chemicals, and ensure precise application for optimal coverage. Your duties will shift from March to May, where you will continue fertilization, service air seeders, and prepare equipment for summer crops like soybeans and milo. You will also prepare hay equipment for cutting and baling, monitor hay moisture levels, and assist with the wheat harvest in June, which requires long hours and operating combines, grain carts, and farm semis. In the summer months, your tasks will include spraying fields, planting summer crops, and weaning calves. August will focus on preparing for winter wheat drilling, cleaning seed wheat, and servicing combines for the fall harvest. By September until October, you will be responsible for harvesting summer crops, planting winter wheat, and weaning calves from the spring calving season. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, experience in livestock care, and a willingness to work long hours during peak seasons. If you are dedicated, hardworking, and ready to contribute to our thriving farm operation, we encourage you to apply. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
