Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot ADAS systems using advanced diagnostic tools and schematics to identify faults accurately.
- Perform calibration procedures for cameras, radars, lidar sensors, and other sensor-based systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Repair or replace ADAS components including sensors, modules, wiring harnesses, and related electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment to perform precise repairs and adjustments on various vehicle models.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections focusing on ADAS integration alongside traditional mechanical and electrical systems such as transmissions, powertrain, alignment, and vehicle maintenance.
- Interpret schematics and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues within complex automotive electrical systems efficiently.
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and quality standards while maintaining detailed documentation of services performed.
- Collaborate with service advisors to explain technical findings to customers clearly and provide recommendations for repairs or maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or equivalent hands-on automotive repair background with a focus on advanced driver assistance systems.
- Strong knowledge of ADAS technology, schematics, automotive diagnostics, and electrical systems.
- Mechanical knowledge covering vehicle maintenance, powertrain components, transmissions, diesel engine repair, welding, and general automotive service.
- Experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and customer service principles to ensure a positive client experience.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized calibration devices effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in troubleshooting complex systems.
- Valid technician certification or relevant ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) credentials are highly desirable.
