Experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Technician 2nd shift

2nd shift - Monday to Friday, 3pm to 11pm

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision this position is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing all plant production machines, and some building maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs to support the manufacturing floor priority and demand.
• Utilize maintenance ticketing system to track repairs, downtime, and inventory control.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all machines and equipment according to the monthly schedule.
• Practices good housekeeping and safety habits, supports and follows company policies and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to diagnose and repair advanced electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, with and without schematics.
• Must be able to read and understand fluid diagrams, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics.
• Experience with fluid delivery, fluid monitoring, and PLC controls are a plus.
• Must have the ability to learn and comprehend all process equipment.
• Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy with the ability to analyze information gathered to identify potential problems and/or discrepancies.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to interact and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Must have written, verbal and computer ability to establish and maintain records to provide reports and other information required for the efficient operation of the department and the company.
• Must be able to respond and adjust to the needs of the business in a manner that assures timely delivery of the product to the customer.

EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum

• High School Graduate (or GED)
• Completion of a manufacturing equipment maintenance program
• Ability to perform basic math calculations such as decimal/fraction conversions, reading measuring tools.

Preferred

• Some knowledge of nylon applications with five years of experience in a maintenance department with formal related training.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

Normal manufacturing environment requiring physical activity such as:

• May become dirty at times.
• Must be able to work in elevated temperatures on and around equipment such as ovens and hot oil systems.
• Will be working on hot items such as heat traced lines, heated valves, pumps and equipment.
