What are the responsibilities and job description for the First Shift Assembler position at Cast Aluminum Solutions?
POSITION TITLE: Assembly Operator
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
DATE: June 2021
PURPOSE OF JOB: Assemble and test product manually, with hand tools, or simple machine tools.
Supports operations by having correct materials in place when needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble parts utilizing connectors, plugs, jacks, heads, brazing, welding cement, or pot cavity
Helium leak testing
- Use all communication channels to share information quickly and accurately
- Perform in-process inspection using basic math, measuring tools and quality specs
- Receive, count, pull parts following procedures and practices to ensure all parts are available which are required for the part
- Ensure the accuracy of inventory transactions and complete proper documentation
- Enter raw material into CAS computer inventory system, verify current inventory and cycle counts
- Design/build boxes and crates, pack boxes with product and check product quality
- Sequence and organize product shipments following established processes and
- Verify paperwork for prepared shipments once prepared
- Maintain flexibility and cross training knowledge for assignment in other departments as needed
- Maintain a strong safety and quality focus
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High school education preferred
- Computer literacy necessary for shop floor procedures
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of measuring tools (scales, calipers)
- Ability to read and understand prints, drawings, charts, graphs, shop paperwork
- Ability to understand quality specs and apply them
- Ability to learn and apply electrical testing (hi-pot test, ohm meter reading, meg ohms, etc.)
- Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and conversion of measurements
- Ability to prioritize duties so that tasks are accomplished efficiently, safely and with attention to quality details
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact in a team based environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
