We are seeking a new Medical Assistant Clerical/Clinical. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, this position is responsible for a variety of clerical duties in the front office and clinical duties. Depending on level and years of experience, this position may either consist of a clerical role, and transition to a more clinical role. This position actively participates as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team by providing clerical and clinical support to the health care professionals to ensure the delivery of quality health care to patients. This position performs direct technical nursing care and functions in accordance with the plan of care to administer well and acute care, and chronic illness care to patient of all ages.

What You Will Do

  • Complies with all governmental rules and regulations regarding OSHA, CLIA, Blood borne Pathogens, etc. Complies with all safety rules and precautions recommended by the Chief Medical Officer and/or the Director of Clinical Operations.
  • Ensures all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times. Practices and promotes good guest relations.

· Greets patients in a warm and welcoming manner; looks directly at them and speaks to them as they approach the front desk area to welcome them.

· Performs a variety of clerical tasks, including, but not limited to, answering the telephone, taking complete messages, collecting new patient information, patient account maintenance on the billing system, scheduling appointments, appointment reminder phone calls/texts, greeting and registering patients and patient check out. Responsible for balancing daily charges and payments completing a batch slip. Responsible for preparing daily bank deposit. Each staff is responsible for his/her own drawer.

· Verifies patient demographic information at each visit. Asks the patient/parent/responsible party to state phone number(s) and current address to assure the information in the EHR is accurate.

· Collects co-pays prior to patients being seen. Researches account balances and requests payment from patients. Documents details of non-payment on computer, or advises the billing department of non-payment.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring

Our ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience and the following skills:

· Successful completion of a high school diploma or a G.E.D. program

· Successful completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program.

· Basic data entry skills, basic typing, filing, organizational skills.

Certificate/License:

· Medical Assistant Certification or Registered required.

· CPR certification
