Therapeutic Recreation Director Responsibilities:
- Manage small team of activities professionals
- Ensure meaningful activities are scheduled and executed seven days a week
- Encourage, support, and assist residents with activities
- Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 1 year of experience working in an assisted living, independent, or long-term care environment preferred
- Desire to work with the older adults required
- Artistic and musical skills are a plus
- Strong interpersonal and social skills are vital
- Good customer service instincts will be important in interacting with family members and visitors
- Engaging, enthusiastic, willing to learn, and overflowing with creativity to share in planning new activities
