Preschool Paraeducator position at White Pine Elementary, Burley ID
Full Time, 33 hours per week
White Pine is looking for an individual who is energetic, motivated, and enjoys working with children.
The primary function of a paraeducator in the Preschool classroom is to provide assistance to students with a variety of disabilities from ages 3 to 5 years old.Depending on the student's respective handicapping condition, the paraeducator will work with individuals or small groups to increase academic learning, adaptive behavioral skills, and independent living skills. The paraeducator will assist in the implementation of the Individual Education Plan and will work with students who may have physical, emotional, communication,and/ or developmental delays. The paraeducator will assist students with socialization, hygiene, personal care, toileting /diapering needs, medication and some physical / occupational therapy activities and other related tasks as needed.While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to push or lift up to 50 pounds. The employee may occasionally lift up and/or move up to 100 pounds assisting students that utilize wheelchairs and students with adaptive equipment.
Must have an Associates Degree or a minimum of 32 college credits or pass the ParaPro test.
