Description
Routine Decision Making: Determine patient/physician needs and act accordingly. Decide appropriate scheduling, while meeting the needs of emergent patients. Collaborates with receptionists regarding patient insurance information and coverage. Responsible for patient education and appropriate referrals.
Required Knowledge: Knowledge of nursing skills; patient triage, pharmaceuticals, operation of equipment, insurance company requirements, disease processes and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Ability: Organizational and problem-solving skills; effective professional and interpersonal communication skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize patient assessment and nursing care; ability to act independently. Use of critical thinking skills to identify, analyze and prioritize issues. Assist in identification of solutions in collaboration with others.
Education and Certification/ Registration Required for the Position: RN degree; currently licensed in the state of Missouri. BLS required.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Assess, Plan, Implement and Evaluate patient care. (50% of time)
Provides patient education. (15% of time)
Assists provider with all procedures and carries out orders. (20% of time)
Manages telephone calls, faxes, and messages. (15% of time)
Physical Requirements
Medium Work: Lifting 100# maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25#.
Qualifications:RN degree
