THE IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE AS OUR TRANSPORTATION CIVIL ENGINEER:
As our Transportation Civil Engineer, you'll lead the planning, design, and construction of roads, bridges, and drainage systems across Cass County. You'll manage contractors, oversee budgets, and ensure quality control on active construction sites. Your work will span from in-house design and cost estimating to infrastructure inspections, public engagement, and emergency flood response-including coordinating FEMA documentation and community outreach. With a blend of field, office, and community work, every day brings new challenges and the satisfaction of visible results.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
- Experience in road, bridge, and drainage design and construction
- Knowledge of surveying techniques and construction materials testing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, spreadsheets, and technical software
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, public officials, and the general public
YOU'LL BE WORKING IN:
This is a local, full-time civil engineering role based in West Fargo, ND, with:
- No travel outside the county
- A mix of office and field work
- Regular site visits (includes walking, climbing, and lifting equipment)
- Outdoor work in varied weather during construction or emergency events
