About the Role
A private farm in Branford, FL is looking for a dependable, hands-on farm hand to help care for a diverse group of animals, including cattle, horses, donkeys, alpacas, chickens and other poultry, and several exotic species, and to support general farm operations as needed. The main focus is the daily care and well-being of the animals, but the right person will be flexible and willing to help wherever the farm needs it.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water all animals on schedule, following each species’ diet and care instructions
• Bathe, groom, and check animals, including hooves, coat, eyes, and skin
• Give medications, dewormers, and basic wound care as directed by the veterinarian
• Monitor animal health daily and report any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior right away
• Clean and maintain barns, stalls, pens, the chicken coop, and other enclosures
• Collect eggs and keep the poultry area clean and secure
• Assist during veterinary, farrier, and other service visits
• Keep simple daily records of feeding, treatments, and observations
• Track feed, hay, and supply levels and help unload deliveries
• Help with general farm tasks, seasonal projects, and other duties as needed

Ideal Candidate

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience on a farm, ranch, barn, or animal facility
• Comfortable and calm around large animals, poultry, and a variety of species
• Experience with alpacas or exotic animals is a plus
• Knows the basic warning signs of illness and injury in animals
• Comfortable giving medications, including injections
• Dependable, punctual, observative, and willing to learn
• Flexible and willing to pitch in on whatever the farm needs
• Able to work independently and communicate clearly
• Able to work outdoors in Florida weather and lift 50 lb
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Branford

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 per week
