POSITION SUMMARY
The Pesticide Applicator Licensed Field Technician at Casey & Company Interiors & Fine Gardens is responsible for the application of pesticides in various landscaping projects. This role involves handling and applying chemical treatments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental guidelines. The technician will collaborate with the landscaping team to ensure integrated pest management and client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Applying pesticides in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and label instructions.
- Diagnosing and managing pest issues while minimizing environmental impact.
- Keeping accurate records of pesticide usage and client interactions.
- Inspecting and maintaining equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Working collaboratively with landscaping teams for integrated pest management.
- Educating clients on pest management and landscape health practices.
- Staying current with industry best practices and maintaining licensure.
- Complying with all safety regulations and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
- Reporting any safety incidents or concerns to the Foreman, Safety Director, or HR Manager.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Must possess a valid Pesticide Applicator License in DC, MD & VA.
- Ability to obtain a valid state driver’s license prior to employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pesticide application or related field.
- Knowledge of local pest species, landscape plants, and applicable safety precautions.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily activities according to the work schedule.
- Physical ability to handle strenuous tasks and work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in the use and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Ability to understand, follow, and convey written and oral instructions.
- Consistent dependability in attendance and reliability.
