Essential Duties:
As an Auto Body Shop Technician, your role is crucial in restoring vehicles to their pre-collision condition. Your objective is to ensure the vehicle is repaired properly, safely, and timely, the first time.
Core Responsibilities and Expertise:
- Repair collision damage to vehicles according to I-CAR standards.
- Insure repairs are completed in the quickest, safest, and most skillful manner possible.
- Correct the damage efficiently to maintain long term durability, proper handling, and restore the appearance of the vehicle.
- Ensure all repairs meet the highest quality standards.
- Essential Duties include: ability to read/write collision repair estimates; proper identification of vehicle parts and blueprint repair during tear down; repair and replacement of vehicle body parts; proper use of safety equipment; understanding of design and construction of vehicles (including full frame); knowledge of liability issues; measuring and straightening principles using computerized systems; knowledge of replacement vs. repair; understanding of MSDS sheets; knowledge of adhesive bonding and resistance spot welding; and the ability to weld and cut steel.
Job Qualifications:
- Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must maintain level of expertise through continuing education.
- I-CAR certification is a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
