Account Manager - Payments & Citizen Engagement
Location: Remote (Hybrid Optional) | Travel Required (~10-20%)
At Caselle, we build software that helps communities thrive. We serve over 1,300 customers and more than 20 million citizens nationwide. For over 40 years, we've supported local governments with ERP solutions purpose-built for small and mid-sized municipalities.
Today, Caselle is investing heavily in payments and citizen-facing digital experiences-helping cities modernize how residents pay bills, apply for permits, manage licenses, and interact with their local government. With a 98% customer retention rate, our customers trust us to be long-term partners in both technology and growth.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a payments-focused Account Manager with a strong track record of selling transaction-based, revenue-generating solutions. In this role, you'll drive adoption and transaction volume across Caselle's Citizen Engagement Portal, including online payments for utilities, permits, licenses, taxes, and accounts receivable.
This is a growth role built for sellers who understand payments economics-usage-based pricing, adoption curves, and how to position digital payments as both a citizen convenience and a revenue optimization strategy for municipalities.
You'll manage an established book of local government customers and focus on expanding payment penetration, increasing digital adoption, and unlocking recurring transaction revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow revenue across a portfolio of 200 existing municipal customers
- Drive adoption of online payments and citizen self-service tools across utilities, permits, licenses, taxes, and AR
- Sell transaction-based solutions with a focus on payment volume, usage, and long-term revenue growth
- Lead consultative, ROI-driven conversations around digital payments, fee collection, and citizen experience
- Partner with finance, treasury, utility, and IT leaders to modernize payment workflows
- Forecast and manage a payments-focused pipeline using CRM tools
- Negotiate and close agreements that expand payment processing and portal usage
- Travel to conferences, user forums, and approximately 6 onsite meetings per year (~10-20% travel)
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful payment rollouts and expansion
You Might Be a Great Fit If You...
- Have 5-10 years of experience selling payments, fintech, or transaction-based SaaS
- Have sold products tied to processing volume, adoption, or usage-based revenue
- Understand payment workflows such as bill pay, ACH, card processing, fees, and reconciliation
- Are comfortable selling to finance, treasury, and executive stakeholders
- Can clearly articulate the ROI of digital payments beyond "convenience"
- Thrive in expansion-focused roles with uncapped or growth-oriented commission structures
- Are self-directed, organized, and comfortable managing a large book of accounts remotely
Bonus points for experience selling into local government, utilities, or highly regulated industries.
