Casella Construction is seeking to hire a Loader to join our Operations Team at the Saratoga Wastewater Treatment Plant in Saratoga, NY. The Loader is responsible for safely and efficiently preparing, positioning, and loading trailers with material to support daily hauling operations.

Responsibilities
- Load approximately 2 trailers per shift to support daily hauling operations
- Operate a yard truck (Class A combination vehicle) to move and position trailers
- Prepare trailers for loading by removing debris and applying slip agent
- Back trailers into loading bays and position them under the loading system
- Signal control tower to start and stop loading processes using airhorn procedures
- Evenly distribute material during loading using a ladder and roof rake
- Monitor loading progress and reposition trailers as needed
- Ensure trailers are loaded to capacity (~117,000 lbs / 37 tons)
- Perform routine equipment and trailer inspections
- Maintain clean and organized work environment
- Training requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Ability to perform physical labor and long shifts
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to safely bend, look under the truck/trailer, and climb steps into and out of the cab
- Ability to enter the trailer via the man door or a ladder
- Ability to lift hoses, open/close the hood, and shovel built-up rock or snow
- Physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb inclines for the duration of the shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
