Crane Operator – Cased Hole Well Services
Cased Hole Well Services (CHWS) is expanding our operations and seeking an experienced Crane Operator to support operations at our Houma facility.
We are looking for a safety-focused operator with demonstrated experience operating friction track and mobile hydraulic cranes in an industrial or oilfield environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate friction track cranes and mobile hydraulic cranes
- Perform pre-operational and routine equipment inspections
- Inspect crane components and report mechanical or safety concerns
- Review and properly apply crane load charts
- Determine appropriate crane setup and operating configuration for assigned lifts
- Safely lift, move, position and set equipment and materials
- Monitor load weight, radius, boom configuration and surrounding conditions throughout lifting operations
- Communicate with riggers, signal persons and other personnel during lifting operations
- Follow established lift plans and CHWS safety procedures
- Maintain crane inspection and operational documentation as required
- Assist with yard and equipment-handling operations when needed
- Maintain equipment in a safe, clean and operational condition
Qualifications
- Current crane operator certification appropriate for assigned equipment
- Demonstrated experience operating friction track cranes
- Demonstrated experience operating mobile hydraulic cranes
- Strong understanding of load charts, crane capacities and operating limitations
- Knowledge of rigging practices and standard crane hand signals
- Ability to perform required equipment inspections
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to unsafe conditions
- Previous oilfield, industrial or heavy-equipment experience preferred
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Strong safety awareness and dependable work history
- Ability to successfully complete CHWS equipment-specific operator evaluation
Location: Houma Yard Facility
Preference will be given to qualified candidates living locally within the tri-parish area.
